Introduction to the User
A Tainan-based technology company (hereinafter called ‘customer’) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of a well-known Japanese company and a professional manufacturer of material handling systems. This customer inherits the rich experience of the Japanese parent company and the most advanced techniques to provide material handling systems used in the cleanroom environment for panel factories, semiconductor factories, and pharmaceutical industries in Taiwan. Moreover, this customer in Taiwan has factories and offices in Tainan City, Taichung City, and Hsinchu City, with more than 300 employees.
Customer Needs and Challenges
The most basic and important requirement for customer’s offices is to unify the daily routines of the three offices distributed in different cities. The offices broadcast three-minute exercise music every morning so that the entire staff can start a day of vitality. In addition to the need for music scheduling, the HR department also has the need for message announcements and clock-out reminders.
Traditionally, the tasks of message announcement and bell timer were handled individually by each distributed factory or office. Some offices used an old-style bell timer to set the schedule. Whenever there was a change in the schedule, it was necessary to manually change the settings or pay an additional fee to complete it. For example, in the office in Hsinchu, the daily messaging function was equipped in the security broadcasting system of the building, which required additional fees and had complicated applications & setting procedures.
Based on the above conditions, the HR department puts forward requirements to the IT department, hoping to have a more efficient system to manage the daily routine and information delivery of the remote offices. Therefore, the IT department in charge began to find a solution after collecting all the internal requirements.
In the market, it is common to use hardware-based music clocks. This kind of equipment needs to be set manually, and the steps are cumbersome. Furthermore, there are usually audio file restrictions, and remote management is not possible.
Therefore, the IT department considers that it is necessary to find a “software-based” scheduling system, with simple settings and compatible with various audio files. The most important thing is to be able to remotely maintain and manage the system of all the offices in Tainan, Taichung, and Hsinchu. Finally, the IT department found the BXB MT-2 AV Multimedia Scheduler on the Internet and immediately contacted BXB to arrange the prototype test.

Solution: Equipment Dedication, Software Settings, Remote Maintenance
The MT-2 AV Multimedia Scheduler provides “software-based” scheduling settings. It supports MP3, MP4, and WAV audio formats, which can be operated through a Web browser, no need to install additional software. In addition, various schedule settings, such as “Schedule of the Day”, “Weekly Cycle” and “Special Date”, can be preset via the built-in calendar to quickly complete the schedule setting for the entire year. Moreover, the MT-2 can even import the annual holidays from the government open data, providing users with considerate functions.

After testing, the IT department confirmed that the MT-2 can meet the company’s needs and then immediately purchased 4 more units for the offices in Hsinchu, Taichung, and Tainan to replace the old music clock and security system. The shortcomings of time-consuming, labor-intensive, and inefficient management are solved by the MT-2 solution, with the characteristics of equipment dedication, software settings, and remote maintenance, providing customers a time-saving, labor-saving, and effective management system.
Customer Feedback
After using the BXB MT-2, the customer’s IT department said, “The scheduling setting of MT-2 is very simple and the interface is very clear. If the HR department needs to announce the news, they can record the audio in advance. And then I can broadcast the audio easily. It is very convenient. The most important thing is that it can be maintained remotely. As long as I am in Tainan, I can maintain the schedules of Hsinchu and Taichung simultaneously, which saves a lot of time.”

System Expansion in the Future
In addition to the three features of equipment dedication, software settings, and remote maintenance mentioned above, the MT-2 can also display real-time weather and air quality information in combination with the government’s open data. At the same time, the MT-2 connects to Central Weather Bureau’s earthquake rapid report system, which is suitable for enterprises, campuses, and factories. It can automatically convert the scheduling system into an earthquake rapid report system when an earthquake occurs. It does not require special equipment, which helps you increase asset utilization. All the expansion functions make the MT-2 become an all-in-one solution for daily routine communication and disaster prevention.
